Event Launches the Maryville University Coalition to End Interpersonal Violence
ST. LOUIS, MO (11/02/2010)(readMedia)-- Maryville University's Center for Civic Engagement and Democracy celebrates the launch of the Maryville Coalition to End Interpersonal Violence from 6:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, with a performance by the St. Louis Women's Chorale in the Auditorium. The event will include a wine and cheese reception and a silent auction presented by M*PWR (Maryville Promoting Women's Rights).
Net proceeds will be donated to the St. Louis Women's Chorale and the Weinman Shelter. The Coalition is a partnership of University faculty, staff and students and its diverse St. Louis community partners. The St. Louis Women's Chorale performs a repertoire of music for women, about women and by women. The Weinman Shelter provides a safe haven for women and children fleeing violent homes. At present, St. Louis County has only 50 beds available for such families.
Tickets are $5 at the door for participants who register online and free to Maryville students with an ID.
