ANNVILLE, PA (09/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Jay Black left teaching in 2007 to pursue writing and stand-up comedy full time. He will appear in a free performance at Lebanon Valley College on Friday, Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. in Leedy Theater.

Since 2007, he has appeared as a comic on Showtime, A&E, Fox, CBC, and NBC, and has performed at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana in Atlantic City and the world famous Los Angeles Improv. Black has had equal success as a writer, selling his first screenplay in 2008 and working heavily a "punch-up" writer in Hollywood, making funny movies even funnier. His comedy is funny because he is a keen observer of the absurd and is desperate to never have to go back and teach again.

The Friday Night Comedy Series continues with a free show on Oct. 14 and concludes Nov. 18 with the End of the Year BASH! featuring comedian and Cash Cab star Ben Bailey.
