HUXLEY THEATER, NYS MUSEUM, ALBANY (12/07/2010)(readMedia)-- A member of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Air Wing will be on hand at the New York State Museum this Saturday for a screening of a new documentary about his unit's mission at the North and South Poles.

Lt. Col. Kurt Bedore will join Amy Manley, Producer of WCNY's "Arctic Air" for a question and answer period following a special public screening at the Museum's Huxley Theater at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 11.

Bedore is a navigator for the unique and specialized, ski-equipped C-130 Hercules that fly from the Stratton Air National Guard Base and support the National Science Foundation as it performs essential research at the top and bottom of the world. He also appears in the film along with other air crew members during a mission to Greenland last year. WCNY is a Syracuse-based PBS Station that sent a production team along with members of the 109th during the summer of 2009. The film is being shown free on Saturday in conjunction with the museum's Citizen Soldier exhibit, which runs through March 2011.
