FFA Meat Goats Impress Judges at Iowa State Fair

DES MOINES, IA (09/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Iowa FFA members showed their prized goats in the FFA Meat Goat show judged August 20 at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.

Reserve Champion Market Goat: Chance Deppe, Bellevue

Champion Does: Gavin Meyer, Wilton

Reserve Champion Does: Kaylin Burr, Lone Tree

Champion Buck: Jason Miller, Bloomfield

Reserve Champion Buck: Riley Brown, Corydon

The Grand and Reserve Champion Market Goats, along with 14 other livestock champions, were auctioned in the prestigious Sale of Champions on Saturday, August 22. The event was sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement, a non-profit organization established to encourage the pursuit of agriculture-related careers by Iowa's youth.
