Fair-Ovation Invention Event New to the Iowa State Fair
DES MOINES, IA (05/18/2017) (readMedia)-- The Iowa State Fair in partnership with the Governor's STEM Advisory Council has created the first-ever Fair-Ovation event set for Sunday, August 13 in the Oman Family Youth Inn.
Fair-Ovation is a pitch or idea contest in a science fair-like atmosphere for students in grades 3rd-12th. The contest provides the opportunity for students to gain professional feedback on their innovative ideas, inventions and concepts utilizing the priorities from STEM.
In this first of its kind competition, students can compete individually or as a team in one of three categories: Agri-Tech and Food-Tech, Bio-Tech and Enviro-Tech or Life-Style Innovation. Teams may consist of up to four members who are in the same grade range (3rd – 5th, 6th – 8th, 9th – 12th).
