Faith Baldini of Drexel Hill Receives Award from Chestnut Hill College

PHILADELPHIA, PA (05/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, Ph.D., president of Chestnut Hill College, awarded senior Faith Baldini, a history major from Drexel Hill, Pa. with the Dorothea E. Fenton '28 Memorial Medal at Honors Convocation on April 28, 2013 at the College.

The Dorothea E. Fenton '28 Memorial Medal was named in honor of Dorothea E. Fenton, a student from the first graduating class of the College who passed away one week before celebrating her commencement in 1928.

According to the 1931-1932 College catalogue, the medal is given "in recognition of the nearest attainment to the ideal symbolized by Miss Fenton's personal record in the College – eager pursuit of all that pertains to the higher life of the spirit and gracious courtesy in the contacts of life." The recipient of the award is a senior nominated by staff and faculty for possessing the qualities of cooperation and loyalty to the school.

During convocation, Baldini was also recognized for being a member of the Departmental honors program and was also the recipient of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Alpha Theta Senior Book awards, given to the senior with the highest grade point average in both honor societies.

In addition to her studies, Baldini is the president of the History Club, treasurer of HPA (the Harry Potter Alliance), a tutor in the Writing Center, and a student representative for the board of the Interdisciplinary Honors Program. She is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Sigma Iota, Delta Epsilon Sigma and Kappa Gamma Pi honor societies.

In addition to her academic and extracurricular activities at the College, Baldini also coaches CYO Field Hockey for St. Andrew School in Drexel Hill.
