Faith Leaders, NYC Electeds To Demand Albany Protect Climate Law as Gov. Pushes For Fossil Fuels From Hell
Governor Hochul is pushing to delay investments in renewable energy under the guise of "affordability" while keeping us stuck on dangerous, expensive fossil fuels
ALBANY, NY (04/15/2026) (readMedia)-- On Thursday, April 16th, faith leaders from across New York will rally in Union Square with advocates and NYC Councilmembers against Governor Hochul's effort to weaken the state's Climate Law and keep us stuck on dirty and expensive fossil fuels. The group will urge state lawmakers to stand strong against the Governor's proposed rollback and prioritize clean, affordable energy from Heaven instead of keeping us on dirty and expensive fossil fuels from Hell!
In recent months, the Governor has made a hard pivot to embrace fossil fuels in the name of "affordability", while baselessly blaming climate regulations for higher energy bills. Now, Governor Hochul is using fearmongering and fossil fuel rhetoric to try and roll back the state's Climate Law and delay investment in renewable energy sources - all while trying to portray herself as a climate champion.
New Yorkers know better, and we will not let politicians sacrifice our future so they can score political points and profit. State lawmakers, including a majority of her own party, have rejected the Governor's fossil fuel push - and now we're urging them to hold the line!
