PHILADELPHIA, PA (04/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Faith Rodgers, a senior psychology major and communications minor from Philadelphia, Pa. was selected to receive the Anne Keeler McBride '48 Endowed Scholarship from Chestnut Hill College.

The scholarship was established by the family of Anne Keeler McBride to honor the memory of Anne, who dedicated her life to the love of learning. Her impact as a teacher is immeasurable having touched the lives of so many students over the years.

Anne Keeler McBride graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 1948. For the rest of her life, she continued to learn and to promote learning. As a mother, a friend and a teacher, she modeled the ideal of the lifelong learner. An avid reader, she inculcated the love of language and ideas in her six children. In her 50s, she earned a master's degree in English and taught English and writing both at the high school and college level for several years. Her love of learning took root at Chestnut Hill College, and her grateful children are proud to share this enthusiasm with students who will follow in her tradition.

Students are eligible for the scholarship if they maintain a GPA of 3.0. On campus, Faith Rodgers is a member of the track club, and also sings in a gospel group in her free time.
