ST. LOUIS, MO (06/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University's Alumni Association recently honored outstanding alumni who have made a significant impact in their communities and made efforts to improve society. Honorees were selected by the Alumni Board of Governors and recognized at MBU's Alumni Chapel service.
Faith (Seguin) Smith of the Los Angeles area received the 2012 Service to the University award. Smith is a 1975 graduate with a degree in music education. Smith retired from teaching when her family relocated to Southern California – the first of several moves over the next two decades.
Many have been blessed by her piano skills honed at MBU; she regularly plays for church services, special music and Bible studies. Having served in a variety of church-related ministries, Smith currently co-leads a small group Bible study and for the past three years has mentored a Christian graduate student from Moscow, Russia. Her passion for Christian education presents a number of students the opportunity to attend MBU.
Smith and her husband, Thom, reside in the Los Angeles area, as do their son, Adam, and daughter-in-law, Julie.
