Farmington Resident Thomas J. Van Hoof, M.D., Ed.D., Receives Alumni Award from Saint Anselm College

MANCHESTER, NH (12/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Farmington resident Dr. Thomas J. Van Hoof received an Alumni Association Award from his alma mater Saint Anselm College on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Dr. Van Hoof of the class of 1988, received the Health Service Award for his leadership and exceptional achievement in health care, research, and health education.
In 1992 Van Hoof graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and earned his doctorate in educational administration at Columbia University in 2008.
In the last 25 years, Dr. Van Hoof has become an expert in health services research and education. He currently serves as associate professor at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing, and associate professor for the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. To many of his colleagues throughout the UCONN system, Van Hoof is known as a teacher's teacher; a colleague whom students rate as one of the best teachers within their system. In 2004, Van Hoof was awarded the Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Teamwork from Qualidigm, a Medicare quality improvement agency for Connecticut and the Northeast.
The Saint Anselm College annual alumni awards dinner acknowledges Saint Anselm alumni, faculty, staff, and special friends for their outstanding achievements in their chosen field or contributions to the college.
