Favor Ezewuzie named USTFCCCA D3 Indoor T&F National Athlete of the Week

Wheaton College senior Favor Ezewuzie was named the Division III Female National Athletes of the Week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday morning. This is the first time that Ezewuzie has been named National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season by the USTFCCCA and is the first time in the awards history that a female athlete from the CCIW has earned the honor indoors.

Ezewuzie earned the award for her performance last weekend at the 2020 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships. She won four events at the meet: the women's 60-meter dash, the 60-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash and the long jump. Her remarkable performance earned her the Female Track Athlete of the Meet award, becoming the first student-athlete in CCIW history to win the award in three-consecutive seasons.

Her performance in the women's 60M hurdles was a conference and school record time of 8.60-seconds that is fastest in Division III this season and is the 13th-fastest time in Division III history. She also set a conference and school record in the 200-meter with a time of 24.95-seconds that is the third-fastest time in Division III this season.She won the women's 60-meter dash at the CCIW Championships with a time of 7.62-seconds the first conference championship she claimed was in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.74m (18' 10") that ranks eighth in Division III this season.
