Feb. 13 'Evening of Opera!' features Elizabethtown College faculty members

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (01/27/2012)(readMedia)-- Dr. Sarah Daughtrey, mezzo-oprano and assistant professor of music, and Phyllis Drackley, soprano and Elizabethtown College adjunct faculty member, are featured performers in "An Evening of Opera! Arias, Duets and Trios," at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in Elizabethtown College's Zug Recital Hall.

The free faculty recital, sponsored by the College's Department of Fine and Performing Arts-Music Division, features works from Mozart's comic opera Così fan tutte and Puccini's Madame Butterfly, as well as Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier.

Drackley and Daughtrey will be joined by Millersville University faculty member and soprano Kristin Sims and by Scott Drackley on the piano.

At 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, the College presents "Strings Attached" featuring adjunct faculty member Jill Marchione, along with Elizabethtown faculty members Austin Hartman, on violin, and Ellen Eager, cello. Dickinson College faculty members Blanka Bednarz will accompany on violin and Daniel Brye plays viola. The free Monday Series Concert, in Zug Recital Hall, showcases works by Britten, Francaix, Mozart and Joan Tower for oboe or English horn and strings.
