SUMMARY

A federal court jury in Albany, New York awarded an $11 million verdict to two sisters now aged 18 and 16 who were repeatedly sexually assaulted in 2000 by their half brother. The jury found that Dr. Patricia Monroe M.D. and Adirondack Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, P.C. were negligent in their care and treatment of the children when they failed to take the proper measures to investigate a situation which would have prevented the girls from being sexually assaulted by their half brother. The girls were represented by Pamela A. Nichols and Stephen R. Coffey of O'Connell & Aronowitz.
