Fernelius and Sheridan honored during Entrepreneurial Showcase

DECORAH, IA (04/30/2013)(readMedia)-- Luther seniors Dan Fernelius and Lindsay Sheridan were awarded the Daryl and Audrey Erdman Prize for Entrepreneurship at the 28th annual Luther College Entrepreneurial Showcase held Tuesday, March 18 in Luther's Peace Dining Room. During the program, other awards and scholarships announced included the Accenture Scholarship and the E-Club Entrepreneurial Leadership Prize.

The Daryl and Audrey Erdman Prize honors Luther students who create, develop and manage a successful entrepreneurial enterprise. The competition is open to all full-time Luther students regardless of major.

Fernelius and Sheridan founded Water Street Music Series in 2012, WSMS presents a collaborative local music series in Decorah, Iowa connecting Luther and the larger community in an innovative, meaningful way. Presented in venues on Water Street, both school and community performances interact directly with local audiences through a seven-concert music series. Each performance incorporates elements from the college and community.

Fernelius, son of David and Linda Fernelius, is a 2009 graduate of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School. He is majoring in music at Luther.

Sheridan, daughter of James and Linda Sheridan, is a 2009 graduate of Sun Prairie High School. She is majoring in music at Luther with a minor in management.

The pair will use the prize to support their professional development as they both travel to Washington D.C. this summer to pursue arts internships.

Since the initial program in 1986, the goal of the Entrepreneurial Showcase has been to serve as an annual forum for students, faculty, alumni and friends of Luther who are interested in and support entrepreneurship.
