Fight for Air Detroit
You Will Have New Respect For Your Lungs
OAK PARK, MI (11/02/2009)(readMedia)-- Registration is open now for one of Detroit's unique challenges.
It's more than a walk.
It's more than a run.
It's a chance to go vertical and tackle the 70 stories of Michigan's tallest building, the Detroit Marriot tower at the Renaissance Center.
And, when you walk away from the American Lung Association's 2010 Fight for Air Stair Climb on February 28, you will walk away with a new found respect for your lungs and the knowledge that you have done something important in the fight against lung disease.
Stair climbs are a great way to challenge yourself-whether your goal is just to reach the top or to be the first to cross the finish line. For the less adventuresome, a "Half Climb" is also available.
Entry options are available for teams and individuals, however a fundraising minimum and registration fee are required of all participants. The registration fee is only $30 through January 3 when it increases to $40 through January 31 and then on to $50 through the registration deadline of February 22.
Participants will start at 15 second intervals and assigned starting times prior to the event.
For details or to register, visit www.midlandlung.org/climb; send e-mail to jjimenez@alam.org; or call the Oak Park office of the American Lung Association at 248-784-2018.
