Fight for Air
You Will Have New Respect For Your Lungs
CINCINNATI OH (11/02/2009)(readMedia)-- Registration is open now for one of Cincinnati's unique challenges
It's more than a walk.
It's more than a run.
It's a chance to go vertical and tackle the 45 stories of Cincinnati's Carew Tower.
And, when you walk away from the American Lung Association's 2010 Fight for Air Stair Climb on February 28, you will walk away with a new found respect for your lungs and the knowledge that you have done something important in the fight against lung disease.
Stair climbs are a great way to challenge yourself-whether your goal is just to reach the top or to be the first to cross the finish line.
The event offers:
COMPETITIVE CLIMB - Register to race against other climbers in the competitive climb.
CLIMB AT YOUR OWN PACE - Register for a personal challenge with the Climb at Your Own Pace option and see how you do. No pressure, no stress. Can you make it to the top? We'll still time you, just for fun.
VERTICAL MILE - Register to conquer the Carew with the Vertical Mile option. It's the race of a lifetime, and hard to find. Challenge the clock and other participants as you climb and descend the 45 floors to achieve one full vertical mile up, and one full vertical mile down. This is 10 times up, 10 times down, and then another 8 floors and 6 steps! Participants are given 3 hours to complete the challenge. Due to the limited number of spaces available and the intensity of the climb, you must qualify for this category.
Entry options are available for teams and individuals, however a fundraising minimum and registration fee are required of all participants. The registration fee is only $30 through January 3 when it increases to $40 through January 31 and then on to $50 through the registration deadline of February 22.
