Background: Genesee Community College invites college bound students of any age to its Dansville Campus Center for financial aid assistance. In conjunction with College Goal NY, GCC Dansville will offer free expert help filling out the online FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. This event was originally planned for February 9, 2015 but had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Financial aid counselors will be available in Room 213 any time from 4 - 8 p.m. This is the second year the Dansville Campus Center has hosted the event. "We had a great event last year and hope to have an even bigger and better event this year," said Amy Churchfield, associate dean of the Dansville Campus Center.

In order to receive all of the federal aid to which a student is entitled, the student must complete the FAFSA form. Participants who attend the event are asked to bring essential information, including social security numbers, birth dates, driver's licenses and most recent income tax returns. Those who registered for the event February 9th do not need to re-register.

Assistance at both locations is available to all high school seniors and adults who want to apply for Financial Aid, regardless of where they plan to attend college. In addition, five participants will receive a $500 scholarship.
