Fishing Pacers Catch Holiday Cheer During Parade

AIKEN, SC (12/26/2018) The University of South Carolina Aiken's newly established bass fishing team ushered in the holiday season by taking part in the Aiken Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Aiken Jaycees.

"We are a brand new organization on campus," said Jeff Gattis, coach of the USC Aiken Anglers. "This is a growing activity on many campuses and is quite competitive throughout our state, especially at the high school level.

"We hope to attract that talent to USC Aiken, where these sportsmen and women can get a great education and continue to enjoy this particular area of interest."

He added that participating in the annual parade helped raise awareness of the team throughout the community.
