Five SUNY Delhi Students Awarded Dennis Callas Scholarships

DELHI, NY (02/11/2017) (readMedia)-- Five SUNY Delhi students have been awarded Dennis Callas Honors Scholarships in recognition of exceptional academic achievement.

The scholarships, which range from $1,000 to $2,500, are open to associate and bachelor degree students enrolled in SUNY Delhi's Honors Program. Recipients are required to maintain a 3.3 cumulative grade point average throughout their Delhi careers.

The scholarship program recognizes Provost Emeritus Dennis Callas' efforts to create an Honors Program at SUNY Delhi. Dr. Callas began his SUNY Delhi career in 1973, rising to the rank of Professor, and served as provost from 2004 until his retirement in 2010.

Scholarship recipients include:

Morgan Hulbert, a Veterinary Science Technology major from Cadyville, NY

Simba Mafundikwa, an Architecture and Design major from Manhattan, NY

Shelby Farrone, a Hotel and Resort Management major from Bellerose, NY

John Quagliano, a Business and Technology Management major from Jefferson, NY

Jessica Heh, a Veterinary Science Technology major from Rochester, NY

Scholarships at SUNY Delhi are awarded through the College Foundation at Delhi, Inc., a not-for-profit organization founded to accept and manage gifts to SUNY Delhi. The Foundation strives to make a Delhi education affordable and accessible to students through scholarships and other forms of assistance. It also supports programs and services that enhance educational quality at SUNY Delhi.
