Fix Named Northeast District Coach of the Year

BATAVIA, NY (02/17/2015)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College head swimming and diving coach Erik Fix was recently named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Northeast District Coach of the Year for the 2014-2015 season.

Fix led GCC's men to four first place finishes this year and the Cougars were runner-up at the Region III/Northeast District Championships held on Feb. 13-15 at Monroe Community College. On the women's side, the Cougars swam to three first place finishes and were also runner-up in the regional/district championships.

Genesee will conclude the season in the NJCAA National Championships, which will be held Mar. 4-7 at Erie Community College (Buffalo, NY).

Fix is in his fourth season as head coach at GCC. He resides in LeRoy, NY with his wife Susan and three sons, Brady, Jackson and Carter.
