ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (03/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Flagler College's business administration department has been named one of the top business accounting programs in Florida by AccountingCareersforDummies.com.
Flagler was ranked ninth on the list of top 10 Florida accounting schools, which also included the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University.
In creating the list of top business accounting schools by state, Accounting Careers for Dummies considered a number of variables including academic rigor, admission selectivity, faculty experience, job placement/post-graduation results, educational value, accreditation and financial aid availability.
"Undergraduate business programs have evolved significantly in recent years, with top schools even rivaling an MBA in some circles," said John C. Lukrich, owner and CEO of Accounting Careers For Dummies. "Many business accounting programs are drawing top students in response to strong job opportunities, rich career choices and highly competitive salaries for recent grads. ... To the delight of many of today's employers, most top tier business programs now emphasize practical job training over business theory."
AccountingCareersForDummies.com is designed for prospective accounting students in the U.S. and is published by VRG, the exclusive online licensee of the 'For Dummies' brand by John Wiley & Sons Publishing.
