Flagler College students speak at pop culture convention

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (04/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Flagler College students Katy Stang and Caitlyn Carver recently joined Assistant Professor Matthew Wysocki at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association conference in Boston where they presented papers.

Stang's paper was entitled "Sectional Sanity within the Film Stay" while Carver spoke on "Swept Under the Rug: The Archaic Portrayal of Women in Cleaning Product Advertisements."

Wysocki chaired his panel and delivered a paper on "Little Big Audience: Interactive Audiences for LittleBigPlanet."

The mission of the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association is to promote the study of popular culture throughout the world through the establishment and promotion of conferences, publications, and discussion. The organization has been holding national conferences on the study of material culture, popular music, movies and comics since 1979.
