Flagler College to host "Flagler Creates!" festival

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (10/31/2011)(readMedia)-- Flagler College will host the "Flagler Creates!" handmade festival on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Flagler College West Lawn at the corner of Sevilla and Valencia streets.

The event will offer the community the opportunity to come purchase handmade items that Flagler students, faculty, staff, alumni and Flagler families have created. Some of the handmade items offered for sale will include artwork, jewelry, sewn items, knitted accessories, clothing, accessories and photography.

Flagler College staff members Marsha LeDuke and Shonas Kibbee started "Flagler Creates!" to provide students with a venue in which to sell their handmade items.

Local business and specialty shop owners are welcome to come and discover new and unique handmade items to carry in their stores.

Entry fees for participants and raffles will go to benefit the Flagler College Annual Fund."

Our intent is to help promote the Flagler community," said LeDuke. "We wanted to encourage and give the opportunity to Flagler students, staff, faculty and alumni to exhibit and sell their work and at the same time help the Flagler College Annual Fund with its growth."

This year there will be a food truck and live music. The festival will be held on the Flagler College campus and is free and open to the public. Event parking will be available in a lot located on Markland Place near the 100 block of King Street.
