Flagler Enactus advances to semifinals of World Cup
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (09/30/2013)(readMedia)-- Flagler College's National Champion Enactus team advanced to the semifinals of the Enactus World Cup in Cancun, Mexico, today. Flagler competed in the opening round against teams from Brazil, Tunisia and Singapore.
Flagler is competing against 36 teams from around the world in a competition that brings together an international network of students, academic and business leaders to showcase how students used entrepreneurial action to create opportunity in their community.
Other teams advancing to the semifinal round came from schools in Brazil, China, South Africa, India, Nigeria, as well as 13 other nations. The World Cup winner will be announced Tuesday night after semifinal and final rounds of competition.
Enactus is an international nonprofit organization active on more than 1,500 university campuses in 39 countries. Enactus teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that focus on market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial skills and business ethics.
