ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Flagler College of Enactus is helping Veterans Farm in Jacksonville, Fla., help wounded combat veterans through the use of horticulture therapy.
This week they are selling their famous sweet crisp blueberry bushes. The bushes are three years old and are available for $8. If you buy more than 10, they are $7.
Veterans Farm teaches disabled combat veterans skills to help them overcome their physical and mental barriers while also getting jobs. Through a 6-month fellowship program, veterans learn how to grow organic fruits and vegetables that will provide them with the resources to go out and start their own farms, or to work for larger farming organizations.
The farm is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and is located at 5571 Long Branch Road in Jacksonville. All proceeds from the sale will go to help wounded combat veterans.
