For the Holiday Season, a Gift of Health from Physicians for Peace

Physicians for Peace unveils its 2011 Giving Catalog

NORFOLK, VA (11/28/2011)(readMedia)-- This holiday season, shoppers can honor their friends, family members and co-workers with a meaningful gift of health from the Physicians for Peace Giving Catalog. The 2011 catalog offers gift-givers and recipients the chance to invest in human potential – and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the long-term health of underserved communities around the world.

In 2011, Physicians for Peace mobilized 159 healthcare professionals on 48 volunteer missions to countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East and South America. On missions, Physicians for Peace delivers training and resources to in-country teams of healthcare professionals. Instead of healing one person, Physicians for Peace trains others, so they in turn can heal many within their home communities.

Giving options presented in the 2011 catalog include:

  • The gift of mobility (starting at $25)
  • Heal a child's painful burns (starting at $75)
  • Save a baby's life ($100)
  • Monthly and Major Impact Donation options for those who want to kindle a wide range of projects through funding that is dependable and ready to invest.

All donations made through the 2011 Giving Catalog will directly fuel new and follow-up missions in 2012 and beyond. And donors who give to Physicians for Peace can do so with confidence: more than 90 percent of cash and material donations made to the organization go directly to field operations.

The Physicians for Peace Giving Catalog is available online at www.physiciansforpeace.org/giving-catalog1.html. To request a print copy, please contact Monika Bridgforth.
