NORTHFIELD, MN (11/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Carleton College sophomore Kelsey Moede (Lake Oswego, Ore.) earned all-conference honors for the second consecutive year by finishing second at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships on Oct. 6-8 at Bunker Hills Golf Club.

Moede posted rounds of 75-82-79 to finish the 54-hole event at 326, finishing one off the individual title. It marked the first time she's earned all-conference honors by virtue of her top 10 finish at the conference tournament. The finish was a major highlight in a fall season full of them for Moede, as she recorded five top-10 finishes in six tournaments, including runner-up finishes at the conference tournament and the Division 3 Classic. She also finished third at the College City Challenge and T4th at the Wartburg Invitational. Her fall season stroke average of 79.2 is the lowest fall average ever posted by a Knight, and 12 of her last 16 rounds, dating back to last spring, have been in the 70s.

The Knights finished second as a team at the MIAC Championships, ending with a school-record 977 for the 54-hole event. The total shattered the old record, set at last year's conference tournament, by 25 shots. It marked Carleton's best finish ever at the MIAC Championships. Carleton's team average of 329.5 is on pace to set a new school record and is the third lowest in the MIAC.

Carleton has been nationally ranked all season, sitting at 11th in the Golf World/Women's College Golf Association (WCGA) women's coaches poll for most of the season until moving down to 21st in the new poll, released today. The Knights have completed their fall season and are now off from competition until the spring season, which starts in March.

Ranked among the nation's top liberal arts institutions, Carleton is a private, co-educational college of 1,900 students located 40 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. High academic standards, an excellent teaching faculty and a diverse student body contribute to Carleton's outstanding reputation.
