Four Golden Bears Earn 2026 CSC Men's Tennis Academic All-District Honors

Four Kutztown University men's tennis student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Representing the Maroon and Gold were junior Dang Nguyen (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam/), senior Joaquin Perez (Pachuca, Mexico/Escuela Americana), senior Emmitt Robinson (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute) and junior Henrique Rocha (Jaticua, Brazil/Escola SEB Maceio).

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Schools were permitted to nominate up to four student-athletes in the sport of men's tennis. Athletically, student-athletes must have been in the lineup for 75% of a team's scored events.

Nguyen holds a 3.78 GPA while pursuing a degree in biochemistry. He held the top spot in Kutztown's lineup throughout the year with a 6-10 record in singles and 8-9 record in doubles. The Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, native, was one of the team's three captains along with Perez and Robinson.

Perez, from Pachuca, Mexico, is majoring in geology and had a 3.50 GPA at the time of his nomination. In his final season with the Golden Bears, Perez registered a 6-9 singles record while playing primarily at No. 3 and No. 4. He also posted a winning record in doubles, going 8-6 overall and 7-3 at No. 2 with Terrell Arejola (Quezon City, Philippines/Southville International School and Colleges).

Robinson is appearing on the CSC Academic All-District Team for the second time in his career. The Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, native, is preparing to graduate with a degree in biology (pre-med) and has a 3.81 GPA. Robinson recorded winning records in both singles (9-5) and doubles (9-7). He led the team in singles victories and shared the team lead in doubles wins, while playing primarily at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Rocha is a business administration (finance) major with a 3.91 GPA from Jaticua, Brazil. The junior totaled seven wins in doubles and three victories in singles. Rocha held down the No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles (with Nguyen) spots in the KU lineup for head coach Pete Smith.
