SPRINGFIELD, IL (10/13/2016)(readMedia)-- Maj. Kevin Little of Franklin, Illinois, commander of the Recruiting and Retention Battalion based in Springfield, Illinois, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel during a ceremony Oct. 12 at the Illinois Military Academy on Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois.

Little has 21 years of service in the Illinois Army National Guard. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and Combat Action Badge along with numerous other federal and state awards.

Little was joined by his family, friends and colleagues for the event. His old rank was removed by his wife Jessica and his five year-old daughter, Whitney, and son, fiver year-old Rex pinned him at the ceremony.
