SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/06/2015)(readMedia)-- More than 200 Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers who served in Kuwait will take part in a Freedom Salute Ceremony this weekend honoring them for their efforts overseas.

NOTES: | • The 108th deployed to Kuwait in January 2014. The brigade was headquartered at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, while several Soldiers served in other locations throughout the region. • In Kuwait, the 108th provided mission command and conducted logistical support operations, including Army watercraft, finance, human resources, land transportation, contract oversight and U.S. Army postal operations in support of the servicemembers and civilians serving in the Central Command’s area of responsibility. • News media attending the event should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
