Friends of Sanford Stud Farm to Hold 2nd Annual Open House June 20th

Public Invited to View Restoration Projects at Broodmare and Jumping Horse Barns

AMSTERDAM, NY (06/18/2009)(readMedia)-- The 2nd Annual Open House will feature vendors, food & drinks, Trinity Farm horses, a car show, Ona Curran who will appraise antiques for a $10 fee and entertainment. A highlight of the event will be a display of photos of the historic Sanford Stud Farm from the 1930s and 40s when the farm was in its hey day and bred famous stallions that were known for their speed and endurance. The Sanford Stakes to be run July 30 at Saratoga Race Course commemorates the history of the farm.

WHO:

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Sanford Stud Farm who maintain a web site at www.sanfordstudfarm.org

WHAT:

The event is intended to raise public awareness of the farm's importance in the history of the Mohawk River Valley, and to spark an interest in working to restore the farm as a cultural and educational center for the region.
