DANVILLE, KY (02/16/2010)(readMedia)-- Centre College senior Danny Noll of Ft. Mitchell was recently selected to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Basketball Team for his achievements on the basketball court and inside the classroom.

Noll, an economics major, has maintained a 3.8 G.P.A. at Centre and has been named to the dean's list each semester. He has been a starter in all of Centre's basketball games this season and is currently ranked 13th in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) in scoring, with 244 points. In addition, he's ranked 10th in field-goal percentage and fourth in rebounding.

Not only does Noll play a huge role in the success of the Colonel's basketball team, but he also plays an important role in the Centre and local communities. He has served as treasurer for the campus Habitat for Humanity chapter for the past three years; residence hall director for the past two years; Student-Athletic Advisory Committee member; Student Judiciary Board member; and Junior Marshall for the Class of 2010.

After graduation, Noll plans to attend dental school at the University of Kentucky. He says that his education at Centre has helped him to be more disciplined on the court, and his experience on the court has helped him be a better student.

"After practice, I know that I have to get straight to work," Noll explains. "Also, the small academic community of Centre has improved my communication skills, which has translated to leadership on the court."

And that Centre community is what Noll says he'll miss once he graduates, in addition to hanging out with his teammates.

"My favorite Centre memory is hosting the NCAA tournament my sophomore and junior years, especially the atmosphere at the games," Noll says.

Prior to the 2009-2010 basketball season, Noll was named an honorable-mention Pre-season All-American by D3hoops.com. During his junior-year season, Noll was named to the 2008-2009 Pre-season D3hoops All-American 4th Team; the All-SCAC First Team; NABC and D3hoops South Region Second Team; and the District 4 College Division Second Team. During his junior year, he was also named SCAC Tournament MVP. During his sophomore year, Noll was selected to the All-SCAC Honorable Mention Team, and as a first-year student, he was the SCAC Newcomer of the Year.

Noll is the son of Bob and Rhonda Noll of Ft. Mitchell and is a graduate of Covington Catholic High School.
