GCC Arcade Offers Skiing & Snowboarding Course

BATAVIA, NY (11/17/2014)(readMedia)-- Learn how to enjoy the white stuff this winter! You'll get "snow" much more out of the season when you take "Beginning Skiing and Snowboarding" through GCC's Arcade Campus Center. Register now for the course, which begins Tuesday, January 12, 2015.

This class is great for all those who've always had an interest in downhill adventure. Here's your chance to learn the basics, beginning with understanding the equipment, terminology and what will work best for you. You'll learn about safety and develop the skills to enjoy the slopes like never before.

The class meets Tuesday evenings from 6 - 8:50 p.m. at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville and as needed at the Arcade Campus Center. Students are responsible for transportation, equipment and lift tickets. Class begins January 12, 2015 continuing for eight weeks ending March 7, 2015.

SUNY GCC Arcade staff and faculty invite Open House guests to tour the Arcade Campus Center and learn about all the academic programs and classes offered this spring semester, which include everything from Ceramics to Chemistry, American Cinema to Elementary French. Information about financial aid and scholarships is always available at the campus as well.

The Arcade Campus Center celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. The Campus Center features computer labs, SMART classrooms, and an outdoor Memory Garden for which students designed and created the centerpiece. Come see for yourself everything Arcade has to offer on Saturday, December 6 from 9 to noon.
