GCC Men's Lacrosse National Championship Ring Ceremony

BATAVIA, NY (09/21/2016)(readMedia)-- Members of the 2016 GCC men's lacrosse National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship team will celebrate its title on Saturday, September 24, 2016 with a ceremony honoring players, coaches and administration with the presentation of national championship rings. The ceremony will take place in the Stuart Steiner Theatre at the GCC Batavia Campus.

Genesee captured its first ever men's lacrosse national championship on May 15, 2016 after defeating defending champion Onondaga CC, 13-12 in overtime. The win snapped a seven-year streak in which OCC won the championship, and the Cougars became just the third different school to win a men's lacrosse national title since 2006. It was the College's second-ever national championship in school history and first since 1971 (bowling).

The event will begin at 4 p.m. with light refreshments and the ceremony, including the ring presentations, will follow at 5 p.m.
