BATAVIA, NY (04/19/2013)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College men's lacrosse program recently signed three student athletes from Livonia High School to National Letter of Intents, committing Seanmichael Kidder, Mitchell Kinney and Josh Wester to the program next year.
Kidder, a long stick midfielder, currently has 38 ground balls in six games for Coach Brett Wood at Livonia. He is a three sport athlete, also participating in soccer and hockey. He will begin his academics at GCC in hopes of one day becoming a Financial Advisor.
Kinney, a midfielder and attack, is a nine-year veteran of the sport of lacrosse. Also a member of the Livonia High School soccer team, Kinney has 19 goals and four assists (23 points) in six games so far in his senior season. He is undecided about his intended major at GCC.
Wester, an attack, brings five-years of lacrosse experience to Genesee. He was an All-League First Team member and All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention during his junior season. Also a member of the football and hockey teams, Wester currently leads Livonia in points this season with 44 (23 goals and 21 assists). He plans to study Liberal Arts at Genesee.
Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College. Participation in collegiate athletics should be an extension of the total educational experience for the student athlete. The inherent philosophy emphasizes the athletic setting as a classroom used to teach character, commitment, work ethic, respect for differences, and the importance of sacrifice, teamwork, and cooperation.
