GCC Seeks Nominees for Athletic Hall of Fame

BATAVIA, NY (01/21/2015)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College Foundation and Athletics Department invite nominations for the Cougar Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding alumni athletes, teams or individuals whose efforts or achievements have fostered athletic accomplishments and sportsmanship at GCC. Nominations should be received by Monday, April 1, 2015. Nomination forms are available online at http://www.genesee.edu/home/linkservid/865F399B-C4B2-DE00-30D8CC8938BFE05A/showMeta/0/.

Nominations may be submitted by the nominee or by friends, family, work associates or other colleagues familiar with the nominee. Criteria considered in selecting inductees include the individual's noteworthy contribution to the growth, development and success of Genesee athletics. Team nominees should have distinguished performance that received recognition at the school, regional or national level.

Inclusion in the Hall of Fame is the highest athletic honor the College bestows on its alumni and supporters. New inductees will be honored during the 2015 GCC Homecoming weekend in September.

The 2015 Cougar Athletic Hall of Fame will be the fifth class inducted into the Hall of Fame and will join previous honorees including Mahlon Hamilton, who started GCC's physical education program, former standout player and current men's basketball head coach Terry George, women's basketball standouts Lynn Jensen Northup, Eva Kadlecova Feese, and Mary Loree, and former volleyball coach Ben Guiliano.
