Lima Campus Center Honorees

The Lima Campus Center is pleased to announce that composition and public speaking instructor John Molyneux has been selected as the Instructor of the Semester for Fall 2013. Public speaking is a class many students, like Chelsea Briglin who nominated Molyneux, dread. Briglin says when she entered the class "I was terrified and completely out of my comfort zone. Now, as this class is ending, I can honestly say I will miss it." Briglin credits Molyneux's funny personality and amazing teaching skills for helping her overcome a fear of public speaking. "I don't dread making speeches now and that's a wonderful thing to have accomplished."

The Lima Campus Center is also pleased to announce that Emily Hoh and Abigail Ross have been named Students of the Semester. According to English instructor Nathanial Fuller, Emily is a diligent student who "has shown great improvement in her writing skills this semester, asks thoughtful questions to improve her skills and is not afraid to be wrong." Fuller complimented Emily's calm personality, calling it "helpful to the other students."

Sixteen-year old Abigail is "a brilliant student," according to drawing instructor Yolanda Dailz. Homeschooled prior to her enrollment at GCC, Dailz calls Abigail a serious and mature student "who is always energetic, compassionate and considerate. She is dedicated to all her work and has elevated the standards of all the other students." Dailz complements Ross not only for her schoolwork, but for her character as well. "Abigail is always prepared and willing to share her supplies and personal knowledge with kindness and thoughtfulness."

Warsaw Campus Center Honorees

The Warsaw Campus Center is pleased to announce that Brad Mazur has been awarded the Instructor of the Semester for Fall 2013. A Genesee County Sheriff's deputy, Mazur has taught Criminal Justice classes at GCC Warsaw for several years. Students describe him as very friendly. The Warsaw Campus Center is pleased to announce that Jacob Blanc is the Student of the Semester for Fall 2013. Jacob is described as being helpful to anyone who needs assistance. His instructor complimented the knowledge he brings to his class and said he "asks questions that stimulate discussions."

"Kicking off a new semester is always exciting, and we hope by recognizing our best and brightest students and faculty from last semester will be an inspiration to all," Patty Chaya, associate dean of both the Lima and Warsaw Campus Centers said.
