ST. LOUIS, MO (11/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University recognized men's wrestler Gabe Roman as the Spartan Athlete of the Week after his impressive showing at the Coe College Open. Roman was the champion of the 125 lb weight class at the event.

Roman is a senior from Perth Amboy, N.J., who is majoring in secondary education and physical education.

MBU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and has received the distinction of being an NAIA Champions of Character institution for the past 10 years. The Spartans compete in the American Midwest Conference.
