POTSDAM, NY (08/11/2014)(readMedia)-- Seek out new treasures great and small, and support the SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, as it holds a garage sale on Saturday, Aug. 23. The sale will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 91 Main St. in Potsdam.

The sale will coincide with the Town of Potsdam's annual "Garage Sale Day." All items for sale have been donated, and the center's board members will be staffing the event. The Child Care Center will use the proceeds from the event to purchase new equipment and supplies.

"We provide developmentally appropriate experiences for the children," said SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center Director Lori Moulton. "In order to maintain a high quality program, fundraising is a necessity. We appreciate any support the community can provide."

The sale will feature something for everyone, including clothing, books, household items, and exercise equipment. Shoppers are encouraged to get there early for the best selection.

The SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center was incorporated in 1990, and operates in Merritt Hall as a daycare center to serve the College's faculty, staff and students. Although the center resides on campus, the SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center is a separate not-for-profit organization operating on campus grounds, and serves members of the community, in addition to those affiliated with the College.

Funding for the center is made possible through grants from SUNY and weekly childcare fees. For more information about the SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, visit www.potsdam.edu/faculty/spccc.
