Garrison McMurtrey of Canton named to Dean's List at Ripon College

RIPON, WI (07/29/2010)(readMedia)-- Garrison O'Keith McMurtrey of Canton, Miss., has been named to the Dean's List at Ripon College in Ripon, Wis., for the spring 2010 academic semester. McMurtrey is a junior with a double major in politics and government, and communication, with a minor in history. He is the son of Ms. Sheila M. Taylor of Canton.

McMurtrey spent the spring 2010 semester in Washington D.C., an off-campus program administered by American University. Students may choose programs in American government, art and architecture, economic policy, foreign policy, journalism, justice, peace and conflict resolution and public law. All programs combine seminars, internships and independent research. He is also active in forensics, belongs to the Theta Chi fraternity, and seves as both a resident assistant and the news director for campus radio station WRPN-FM. Ripon is located in East Central Wisconsin, 70 miles NNW of Milwaukee.

To qualify for the Dean's List at Ripon College, students must achieve a 3.40 grade point average or higher on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded work.
