BATAVIA, NY (04/01/2010)(readMedia)-- The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO Club) at Genesee Community College recently donated $1000 to the College's Foundation for student scholarships. On Thursday, April 1, 2010 members of the CEO Club presented President Steiner and Marirose Ethington, professor of Biology and chair of the Faculty/Staff Division of the Foundation, with a check for $1000, the proceeds from the sale of the Club's widely popular Apple Cider Syrup products.

The CEO Club is a three-year-old student organization that fosters entrepreneurship. The Club set out by creating a "SCHOLARS" brand and a product line comprised of unique specialty food items. The first product produced was Apple Cider Syrup and this year the Club introduced Apple Cinnamon Pancake Mix. The sale of both products have allowed the club to donate back to the College Foundation which helped to get the SCHOLARS brand up and running.

"One of the goals of the CEO Club SCHOLARS project was to generate funds for student scholarships," Barbara Shine, assistant professor of Business and advisor for the CEO Club said. "The students have worked incredibly hard promoting and marketing the products and have met the challenge to give back to the foundation that helped them start the SCHOLARS brand business."

Apple Cider Syrup retails at $9.99 and a gift set of Apple Cider Syrup and Apple Cinnamon Pancake Mix can be purchased for $14.99. They can both be purchased at the College's bookstore located on the Batavia Campus.
