Genesee's Busch and Smith Finish Season at Women's Golf Nationals

BATAVIA, NY (05/19/2015)(readMedia)-- Helen Busch (Buffalo, NY) and Erin Smith (Buffalo, NY) recently represented Genesee Community College at the 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Golf National Championships at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, AZ. The four-day tournament was held on May 11th-14th and included 106 golfers from schools throughout the country.

Busch tied for 82nd with a total score of 385. She shot a 95 in the opening round, a 102 on day two, a 96 on day three and a 92 in the final round.

Smith finished tied for 91st with a total score of 406. She began the week with back-to-back rounds of 99, shot a 106 on day three and finished with a 102.

Daytona State College's Tiffany Chan won the tournament with a 288 (71, 77, 67, 73) and topped the field by seven strokes.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College.
