Genesee's Physical Therapist Assistant Program Graduates Have Highest Pass Rate in New York State
BATAVIA, NY (11/25/2009)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College has once again proven itself as a leader in higher education. Graduates of Genesee's Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program have the Highest Ultimate Pass Rate for the National Licensing Exam among all PTA programs in New York State.
All graduates from the PTA program must complete and pass the National Licensing Exam in order to practice as physical therapy assistants. The PTA program at Genesee has a Weighted Average Ultimate Pass Rate for 2005-2007 of 95.12 per cent, which is listed as the highest pass rate among all 11 PTA programs in New York State.

"I truly believe that the success of the PTA program at Genesee is a culmination of the many factors working together as an integrative whole to create something that is greater than the mere sum of its parts. These factors are strong administrative support, hard working dedicated students and superb, team-oriented faculty and staff," Peggy Kerr director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program said. "I consider it an honor to be part of this impressive and dynamic program."
Genesee's PTA program will celebrate the program's 20th anniversary in the fall 2010 semester. On September 18, 2010 alumni, faculty and friends of the PTA program will gather in the Forum at the Batavia Campus from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a dinner at 6:00 p.m. Further information will be forth coming, or contact Peggy Kerr, director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at 585-343-0055 x6366.
