Georgia State University Graduate Student Earns Research-Based Fellowship

Georgia State University student Meghyn Welch has received the Brains and Behavior Fellowship, which is awarded to graduate students whose research contributes to the field of neuroscience.

Welch, of Macon, is a Biology Ph.D. student in the College of Arts & Sciences. Welch will participate in the fellowship during Spring 2021.

Welch is a graduate student in the Neurobiology and Behavior Program at Georgia State and a member of the university's BARO Lab where she is researching dopaminergic co-regulation in the neurons of mice.

The Brains and Behavior Fellowship program, run by the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State, offers graduate students the opportunity to collaborate with others across departments involved in the program. The program promotes student leadership and allows students awarded to graduate students to attend developmental lectures.

The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.
