Georgia State University Student Wins Philosophy Scholarship
Georgia State University student Nana Yaa Awere received the Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship for academic excellence.
Awere, of Lawrenceville, is a junior majoring in Philosophy and Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship is awarded to philosophy majors based on academic excellence.
Preference is given to students from segments of American society whose members historically have been denied the equal educational opportunity due to prejudice and discrimination.
The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.
