Gettysburg College honors local distinguished alum
GETTYSBURG, PA (05/22/2013)(readMedia)-- As part of Spring Honors Day on May 18, 2013, Allison Campbell of Kennewick was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award by Gettysburg College.
Campbell, a 1985 graduate of Gettysburg College is the Associate Laboratory Director of the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a physical chemist she has earned national and international recognition for her work in basic science and biomedical research. Earlier this year Campbell was elected as a Fellow of the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.
