Gimbor, Knerr Named KU Male and Female Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year for 2025-26
Bailey Gimbor of Kutztown University wrestling and Sophia Knerr of the KU women's cross country and track and field teams were voted Kutztown University athletics Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year for 2025-26. The awards were voted upon by the athletic department's coaches, administration and support staff, and presented to the recipients at the All-Sports Celebration this past Monday night, April 27.
Gimbor, a native of Bernville, is a two-time All-American, three-time national qualifier and an All-PSAC First Teamer (2023-24) on the mat. In the classroom, he was a 2024-25 ADA Academic Achievement award winner, a 2023-24 NWCA Scholar All-American, a multi-year PSAC Scholar-Athlete and member of the Dean's List, as well as a member of the PSAC All-Academic Team.
Knerr, a native of Columbia, N.J., is a three-time All-PSAC Second Teamer (2022, 2024, 2025) in cross country, a two-time All-PSAC performer in the Outdoor 3000m Steeplechase (2024, 2025) and an All-PSAC selection in the Outdoor 5000m (2025). In the classroom, she was the PSAC Champion Scholar at this season's PSAC Cross Country Championships.
