New Yorkers Support City Schools with an Ice Cream Run This Weekend
NEW YORK, NY (09/10/2008)(readMedia)-- On Sunday, September 14th, 2008, event company Event by E will host its third annual Ice Cream Run to raise funds for New York City school children. The Run will benefit Children for Children, a not-for-profit organization that fosters community involvement and social responsibility in young people, and will bring together runners and walkers of all ages, along with some of Manhattan's finest ice cream and gelato parlors, to support our city's schools.
- The Run: During the run, teams of up to five will navigate through Manhattan using a map marked with 13 ice cream parlors. Their goal will be to visit as many spots as possible in two hours and make it to the finish line before time runs out!
- Celebration and Awards: Enjoy live music and join in the fun by participating in ice cream tastings and creating fun volunteer projects. Awards and prizes will also be presented to the runners, including a mountain bike, and much more!
- The Reason: All event proceeds benefit Children for Children and will be used to provide resources to underserved New York City schools.
