Giving Back Never Tasted So Good: Supporting Youth Volunteerism and Getting Your Just Desserts

NEW YORK, NY (09/06/2007)(readMedia)-- On Saturday, September 8th, 2007, Eventbye.com is sponsoring The Ice Cream Run, a taste-filled, ice cream scavenger hunt to help raise funds for New York City children. Participants will visit some of Manhattan’s finest ice cream and gelato parlors in a single afternoon to win prizes, and enjoy frosty treats. The Run benefits Children for Children, a not-for-profit organization that fosters community involvement and social responsibility in young people.

A post-Run Celebration – complete with awards and ice-cream tasting – will be held at Core 191. The tasting is sponsored by L'Arte Del Gelato, Il Laboratorio del Gelato and Blue Pig. All are welcome (you do not have to run to join the party at Core 191).

The Run:

Teams of four will visit the best parlors in town, score points and compete for prizes. Each team is given a list of tasks and a limited amount of time to finish them. Participants use combined skills to tackle the challenges, score points, and have a ball doing so. Participating stores include: Australian Homemade, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and Ronnybrook in the Chelsea Market.

The Reason:

All event proceeds go to non-profit organization Children for Children and are used to provide resources to schools struggling to offer quality education to New York City 's underserved communities. For more information about Children for Children, please visit www.childrenforchildren.org.
