Gloria Mack Bell Receives Coker College Distinguished Alumni Service Award

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (06/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Gloria Mack Bell, of Hartsville, S.C., was recently honored during Coker College's Alumni Weekend with the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Service Award. The Distinguished Alumni Service Award is given each year to an individual considered most outstanding in any or all of the following areas: volunteer and community contributions, exceptional service to Coker College, or exceptional service to state or nation.

Bell graduated from Coker in 1974 with a degree in business administration.  After working as a senior accountant with Price Waterhouse, she joined Sonoco Products Company in 1978, where she is currently staff vice president, internal audit. Bell is also a certified public accountant. 

Bell is active in the Hartsville community and has served on the Byerly Foundation Board and the Charles W. and Elizabeth H. Coker Foundation. She is an active member of the Agape Fellowship AME Church where she serves in many different roles. She is a long-time volunteer for numerous organizations including the Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, Pee Dee Girl Scouts Council, Pee Dee Boys and Girls Club, Darlington County Community Action Agency and the Pee Dee UNCF Advisory Board.  Bell has served her alma mater in many capacities and is currently a member of the Coker College Board of Trustees.
